Property Industry Social Media React app

A bespoke social platform for the UK property sector, replacing an existing SaaS community platform with a purpose-built application. I lead product architecture and full-stack delivery across the mobile app, web application, backend infrastructure and administration tooling, while also designing and implementing the product UI around simplicity, usability and behavioural psychology.

Product & UI Design

A significant part of my role has been designing and implementing the product interface itself.

The UI is deliberately clean, simple and low-friction, with the experience shaped by principles from behavioural psychology and UX rather than visual styling alone. I use hierarchy, interaction patterns, feedback, progressive disclosure and friction reduction to make actions feel obvious and reduce the cognitive effort required to use the platform.

The intention is for the interface to feel natural rather than instructional. Users should understand what they can do, what will happen when they do it and where they should go next without having to consciously learn the system.

I own the UI implementation directly in React Native, meaning the behavioural and UX decisions are carried through into the actual production product rather than existing only as design concepts.

Product Architecture & Development

I am leading the product architecture and full-stack technical delivery, owning the application from its underlying database and authentication infrastructure through to the mobile application, web application, administration tooling and production deployment.

The mobile application is built with React Native and Expo, with Supabase providing authentication, database, storage, Edge Functions and realtime functionality.

Core functionality includes:

  • Posts and social feeds
  • User profiles
  • Media uploads and processing
  • User connections
  • Jobs board functionality
  • Realtime interactions
  • User authentication and account management

I designed and implemented the Supabase database schema and Row Level Security policies, and manage the underlying application data architecture directly.

Media & Infrastructure

I built the media pipeline responsible for upload handling, normalisation, thumbnail generation and storage optimisation.

The application currently uses Supabase Storage, with migration to Bunny.net being implemented to improve the media infrastructure as the platform scales.

The web application is built with Next.js and deployed on a Hostinger VPS using CloudPanel, nginx and PM2.

I also built the supporting PHP/JavaScript administration dashboard, providing tools for:

  • User management
  • Moderation
  • Data correction
  • Operational administration
  • Production troubleshooting

Production & Monitoring

This is a live production application rather than a development-only project.

Approximately 25 users are currently trialling the platform, meaning crashes, data issues and regressions have real-world consequences and need to be investigated and resolved as they occur.

I manage production debugging through Sentry, investigate application and database issues, and make the technical decisions required to keep the platform stable as development continues.

The application uses RevenueCat for subscription infrastructure, Brevo for transactional email and EAS for native iOS builds, with GitHub Actions supporting over-the-air application updates.

Community Migration

A major part of the project is the migration from the existing SaaS community platform to the new bespoke application.

More than 3,400 existing users are planned to migrate into the new platform ahead of its November 2026 public launch.

I am responsible for the technical migration strategy, including:

  • Seed data generation
  • Migration scripting
  • Data transformation
  • User migration planning
  • Application architecture required to support the migrated community
  • Technical planning around the transition from the existing SaaS platform

This means the application is being built not simply as a new product, but as a replacement for an established community with an existing user base and operational requirements.
